From a technologic viewpoint, superconductors have good future prospects: no resistance below critical temperature, great transport current capacities, and new interesting functions, such as the transition. They can be used in strategic places of the power grid in order to relieve it and increase the security and the quality of electricity supply. Those materials can help to decrease the costs and the environmental impacts. Therefore, they can become the main components of a new intelligent and reliable network.

Besides, the superconductors’ physical properties add wealth and originality to physics.

We work on material processing and on the properties of high critical temperature superconductors with a view to including them in industrial devices. The field of this study is quite broad as it covers such fields as metallurgy, chemistry, materials science, electrical engineering and physics.
